i look to a higher power

tender tendrils tantamount tenebrae
reach and seek

what starts out as an attempt to sing
turns into gobblydegook

what purpose there was
in knotted nots (not nets

ends up twisting on some gibbering
idiot's tongue or  worse yet

in his carnet
