With apologies to "Tommy" by Rudyard Kipling. The title is paraphrased from "When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer" by Walt Whitman.
dear mister president
do rabbits love giraffes?
i made a wish on a deathwish fish
and i cut the world in half
i stand here burning calories
foam running from my lips
i'm paying slowly for my sins
with leather chains and whips
i practice greetings in the day
and then i play the fiddle
i make a circle on the ground
with the monkey in the middle
i say hello good day goodbye
and correct bland mindless graphs
but tell me mister president
do rabbits love giraffes?
i write mad odes to superhair
and supercunts alike
i make a circle in the air
as the hands prepare to strike
i softly speak and bow my head
but the eyes say my desire
to open twenty bank accounts
and set my pants on fire
and in the end my dearest friend
try not to understand but laugh
for now you know as time will show
that rabbits love giraffes
